where do I begin to say thank you for creating such a beautiful piece of art work just for me..……I needed a lamp but not for one minute did I expect a beautiful present such as this from my partner Nigel. I adore it, everything about it screams ME!
I have it set up in my living room and it matches the colouring, the mood, the light required and it sits right next to where I perch. it is so DYNAMIC!
It is beautiful, stunning, adorable and very special to me, and I just love the theme name you have given it….MAKE DO AND MEND.
Thank you so much Sonya Smith-Hughes xx
As soon as I saw her I knew I had to have her. Posing in a bar, her blank and emotionless eyes spoke of horrors hidden, yet serene like she had left her shell.
Her body had been cut in half, her arms removed, her mutilated torso showed the work of her creator, like the monster of Dr Frankenstein; stitches ran up her back where the skin had been stretched back over the frame, peppered with small punctures.
Now she is mine and where there was darkness, there is light, where there was sadness it's bright.
Social Skin surveys my room, passing judgement on guests as they judge her. Her brothers and sisters await in their creators studio, looking for a chance to break out and inhabit the world again.
They are calling you, you cannot resist and should not.

I saw Mel Winning's magnificent mannequin art
on her website and Instagram and coveted one.
We love light and art and combining them so creatively shone out to us.
Mel enlightened, swiftly took a brief, key words about us;
film, Italy, costume.
What then arrived was Cinema Paradiso.
A bird found plucked, feathers sorted into size and shade so carefully recreated into a fluffy bodice; crystal drop earrings; a Box Brownie camera arm and a Kodak film reel pillbox hat to secure the light was inspired.
Cinema Paradiso now has pride and place as a inspirational luminary in the corner of our home.

We purchased our first lamp from Mel four years ago. It was a bespoke gift for my husband’s 50th Birthday and he was delighted with it. Vulcan is a real statement piece and takes pride of place in our sitting room. Next came the Esso petrol can lamp which sits perfectly amongst our other vintage pieces.
I have since bought four other quirky lights which I simply could not resist. They are each individual but my favourite piece, if I had to call it, would be Twisted Zebra. I had collected this lamp to take to an exhibition for Mel but needless to say it never made it to the show! Once in our little library room, mounted on its pedestal it was there to stay. This lamp never fails to surprise me - it is so beautiful & fits perfectly in its surroundings but at the same time becomes the ideal focal point.

This lamp is extremely well crafted with brass fittings and vintage gold flex, The attention to detail is excellent. I bought the lamps as i felt it was a unique addition to the outside pool area of my Spanish Villa. It was delivered to Spain in a very timely fashion. The lamp has been commented on by many visitors to my house and they are charmed by it when i tell them that this is an original oil can and there is not another like it in Spain. My partner and I love the patina of rust. We really enjoy the light it brings to the garden on our evenings sitting outside. Thank You Mel we love it!
Mel She's arrived we love her!! Christopher New Zealand
