During this pandemic I have loved giving my garden the attention it deserves, that includes this chandelier made from a vintage potato sieve. I had a couple of glass bottles with ships inside one of the Mayflower and one Spanish Galleon that I hung from the grid along with lots of decanter stoppers which are lovely for catching the light. The lamp fittings are for outdoor use teamed with vintage style filament bulbs. It's a special place to sit in the evening with a gin and tonic of course!
As usual you have an idea in your mind and it morphed into something different. Largely inspired by seasonal pollen a dead bea found on my window sill and a butterfly given to me by a friend. The cutout panels which i had originally painted proved too busy for this idea, so I removed them all and replaced two to hide the lamp holder inside and soften the light but also to highlight my insects s a lightbox would. There are cutout left for the light to spill back and front. The original cut out pieces were arranged over the holes to give it a more 3d effect. I think it has a really vintage decorative feel, fragile and beautiful...
The Book protector Chandelier a commissioned work designed for a dark blue sexy room is a commission. The mannequin arms have been cut down and crossed, then mounted onto a vintage linen book. The arms have been painted and distressed with some gold leaf highlights as if they've once seen better days. the twisted cord has also been distressed and we will be adding bakerlight style lamp holders with dimmable globe bulbs. The cord wrapping around the hands, which is great for being able to adjust the height in your room. It's looking lovely I can't wait to install them Mel
Arkaroola Dreaming Reclaimed Mannequin Art Lamp looking spectacular in a beautiful georgian house hallway. The large canvas is one of my abstracts using oil and plaster to add to the story of the Australian outback. The light at night is spectacular and during the day it is bright and cosy. A beautiful arty hallway, with unique reclaimed artwork!
Working on my new mannequin Lamp Planet Pisces. The light source will emerge from the head and body with entwined fish logo and pierced constellation on the back and head. At the moment I am making some clay fish to be embedded into a perspex lake to be part of the design. I'm excited about lighting this one could this be the start of planet mannequin! who knows?
